Laboratory Boiler Upgrade

Description

IPS was commissioned to replace the existing heating hot water boiler system that serves critical research and development laboratories at this client’s Fremont campus. Having surpassed their useful service life, the existing boilers showed signs of wear and deterioration, with some of the boilers beginning to fail.

IPS met with local building officials to expedite the permit process and effectively fast-track the design to meet the client’s limited replacement window.

The new boiler plant provides four 3,000 MBH high efficiency Cleaver Brooks heating hot water boilers. The boilers and all associated pumps, controls, and support equipment were replaced with new amenities. New piping was routed from the new boiler plant to distribute heating hot water to the rooftop air handling systems.
